This is one of the classical Chinese cabinetry constructions, a sloping-stile or tapered cabinet. It has a simple and graceful A-frame structure. The base is made wider by the slight splay of the legs, creating the impression of upward movement. This form of cabinet is one of the most beautiful examples of Chinese furniture. Two door panels are black lacquered with a hand painted gilt painting of people, gardens, and natural surroundings. Each panel is different and restored. A pair is available. There are three shelves. It will be a stunning pair in living room, dining room or as a dresser in the bed room.
